Installation Notes

Windows Defender SmartScreen

While installing a recently released Newprosoft application on Windows 10/11, it's possible you may receive the following warning:

"Windows Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk."

Solution: Click on "More info" link beneath the text then on "Run anyway" button to continue with the installation.

This message may appear due to newly uploaded file that has not built up a long enough history. The warning will be removed when Microsoft recognizes the new application.

macOS Gatekeeper

While opening Web Content Extractor on macOS, you may receive this warning:

"Web Content Extractor cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified. macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware."

To resolve:

  • Open System Settings/Preferences
  • Navigate to Privacy & Security
  • Scroll to Security section
  • Click "Open Anyway" next to the blocked app
  • Enter your administrator password
